The Hurrah Players, established in 1984, is Virginia's leading family theatre company, dedicated to uniting and advancing communities through accessible, high-quality, family-friendly performances and education. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we offer a comprehensive range of programs and services designed to inspire and empower individuals of all ages in the Hampton Roads area.
Educational Programs
Classes: The Hurrah Players provide performing arts education annually, offering classes in acting, musical theater, tap, jazz, hip hop, dance, singing, and stagecraft. These classes cater to various age groups and skill levels, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Camps: Seasonal camps, including Spring Break and multiple summer sessions, are available for children aged 5 and up. Campers engage in musical theater, dance, and learn about theater production processes. Aftercare services are also offered to accommodate working families.
TV & Film Academy: Launched in January 2025, the Nusbaum Family TV & Film Academy caters to aspiring film and TV professionals aged 12 to 19. The academy offers classes that blend creative development with technical expertise, covering areas such as animation, photography, video production, and broadcasting.
Performances: Throughout the year, The Hurrah Players produce several live performances, providing students and community members with opportunities to showcase their talents.
