The Hermitage is a waterfront estate located in Norfolk, Virginia. The museum was founded by William and Florence Sloane in 1937 and includes their collection of fine and decorative art housed in an Arts and Crafts style mansion. The Sloane Collection spans 5,000 years, represents 30 countries, and includes over 5,000 objects. The Hermitage offers exhibitions, outdoor concerts, year-round classes and art camps, gardens and wooded walking trails, and is a popular location for weddings and private events. Admission to the gardens and museum is free.
