Cat lovers, rejoice — the Virginia Cat Festival returns to Williamsburg on November 1–2 for another “meowvalous” weekend of feline fun, famous guests, and celebration. Hosted at the Williamsburg Lodge, this two-day celebration of all things cat features an expanded “marCATplace” of cat-centric vendors, games and activities, and a costume “purr-ade.”
This year’s star performers include MoShow the Cat Rapper, known for his viral songs and advocacy for cat welfare, and comedian Drennon Davis, whose “talking business cats” sketches have captivated millions online. Also joining are leading cat experts Arden Moore, a renowned speaker and author on feline health and behavior, and Kate Benjamin, founder of Hauspanther and design expert from Jackson Galaxy's show My Cat From Hell, sharing creative ways to “catify” your home.
Festival goers can meet “celebricats,” attend informative workshops, and enjoy evening entertainment, including the Jellicle Ball and a special screening of the CatVideoFest, a family-friendly reel of the latest and greatest internet cat videos. Beyond the fun, the festival’s mission is to help cats in need — a portion of ticket sales and 100% of raffle proceeds benefit six nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Attendees can also meet adoptable cats onsite and help them find their "fur-ever" homes.
The Virginia Cat Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with evening events Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets ($20–$40, with discounts for children) are available now at vacatfestival.com. Sponsored by the City of Williamsburg, the event celebrates all things cats and builds community among the people who love them — showing that Virginia is for cat lovers.
