Norfolk Festevents Announces 2022 Season of Events

March 23, 2022

Headlined by the highly-anticipated return of Norfolk Harborfest as well as the celebration of Norfolk Festevents’ 40th Anniversary Season, the 2022 Season of Events presented by Norfolk Festevents has officially been announced, marking the first complete season of events since 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The action-packed slate of events begins in early May with the Spring Town Point Virginia Wine Festival (May 7-8), followed by the Bayou Bon Vivant: Cajun Music & Food Festival (May 20-22), which has moved to an earlier date in the schedule to better align with the Gulf’s crawfish season.

The 46th Annual Norfolk Harborfest: Music, Food & Maritime Festival (June 10-12), after being held in a virtual format for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, makes its grand return to the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront in early June with tall ships, live music, a fireworks show, family programming, culinary experiences, and much more.

The remainder of the 2022 calendar is highlighted by long-running local traditions, such as the 39th Annual Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival presented by Optima Health (August 26 & 27), which will include performances from Pieces of a Dream, Peter White & Vincent Ingala, and many more, along with the Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks (July 4), the Norfolk Latino Music & Food Festival presented by Newport News Shipbuilding (July 23), and the Virginia Children’s Festival presented by Optima Health (October 1).

The 2022 season also features the continuation of new events that made their debut in 2021, including Juneteenth in the Park (June 18) and the NashFest Music & Food Festival (September 17).

In typical fashion, the Season of Events is capped off by the Fall Town Point Virginia Wine Festival (October 15 & 16) and the Holiday Yule Log Bonfire & Christmas Marketplace (December 3). The complete 2022 Season of Events at Town Point Park can be found below or at Festevents.org.
